| Message: First of all I want to apologise for my late reaction,as I only came to know about Mr.Pooranampillai's departure very late through a friend. I also like to join with the rest of the fortunate Hartleyites to offer my condolences to Mrs.Pooranampillai and children,especially Jeyakumar whom I had much closer association. After my parents,I owe KP for what I am today.He taught me the impact of discipline in life. I honestly have to say when I first went to UK from a village like Thunnalai I was taken over with fear. But because of the strong academic and social training under Mr.Pooranampillai the adaptation to life in UK was very smooth. Again I hope he rests in peace and the good lord is taking good care of him |

| Message: I fondly remember the years 1949 to 1960 during the time I got well desciplined education at Hartley under the guidance of Mr.K.Pooranampillai.I was a monitor for three years and a school prefect for four years and had close association with our boloved principal. We owe a debt of gratitude for KP all our teachers for making us what we are today. We express our deepest sympathies to his family. Sincerly
