Mr. C. Rajathurai hailed from a very respectable family and
felt proud to call himself an "Alvayan" - Alvai being his
village. A Hartleyite, always optimistic, cheerful, warm hearted
and a sincere friend. He had an assortment of friends and moved
with politicians and bureaucrats in with those at the same way as
he mingled with those at the grassroot level. He was always at
ease making himself quite at home wherever he went. He was
unruffled at all times. `Raja' as he was affectionately called,
would ungrudgingly come to the rescue of those who sought his
assistance. He always considered the problems of his associates
as his own and would readily console or counsel them.
An excellent sportsman, excelled in soccer, veteran teacher of
Physics and Mathematics, guided for a short term and sought
`greener pastures', lived a very simple life during his
stewardship as Hartley's principal at the `Turret' within the
four walls of the school- he will be remembered by all those who
were associated with him. In family gatherings he shone himself.
He was never a party to a family squabble- he often functioned as
a peace-maker. To him every man counted.
Hartleyites mourn his loss together with grieving family.
